Your Safety Matters
BikeCrew is designed to connect cyclists and motorcyclists with others who share their passion for riding. While we want you to have great experiences, it is important to understand the risks involved in meeting new people, participating in user-organized rides, and using route suggestions.
Please read this Safety and Liability Disclaimer carefully. Your safety is ultimately your responsibility.
Nature of the Service
BikeCrew is a technology platform that facilitates connections between users. BikeCrew is not a tour operator, travel organizer, event organizer, transportation provider, or insurer.
BikeCrew does not organize, control, supervise, or participate in any rides, meetups, or interactions between users. All such activities are initiated and carried out solely by users.
Understanding the Risks
Meeting Other Users
When you use BikeCrew to connect with other riders, you are choosing to interact with people you may not know. You acknowledge that such interactions involve inherent risks, including the risk of injury, harm, or unlawful conduct.
- BikeCrew does not verify users. We do not conduct background checks, identity verification, or screening of users
- BikeCrew makes no guarantees about users. We do not guarantee the identity, intentions, legitimacy, or conduct of any user
- Users may misrepresent themselves. Information provided by users may be inaccurate, misleading, or false
- Users may behave unpredictably or dangerously. This includes unsafe, negligent, or unlawful behavior
You are solely responsible for deciding whether to interact with other users.
Rides and Meetups
BikeCrew allows users to create and join user-organized rides and meetups. You acknowledge and agree that:
- All rides and meetups are user-organized. BikeCrew does not organize, host, or manage any rides or events
- BikeCrew has no involvement. We do not supervise, control, or participate in any ride or meetup
- BikeCrew does not verify ride details. We do not confirm the accuracy, safety, legality, or feasibility of any ride
- Participants act independently. Each user is solely responsible for their own conduct, decisions, and safety
Participation in any user-organized ride or meetup involves inherent risks, including accidents, injury, death, and property damage. You voluntarily assume all such risks.
Routes and Navigation
BikeCrew displays route suggestions that may be created manually by users or generated using algorithms and AI-based suggestions. You must understand that:
- Routes are suggestions only. They are not verified, tested, or guaranteed to be safe
- Routes may be inaccurate or incomplete. They may contain errors, outdated information, or missing details
- Routes may be unsafe or unsuitable. They may include roads that are closed, private, unpaved, dangerous, or not intended for cycling or motorcycling
- Routes may be illegal. They may pass through areas where riding is prohibited or restricted
- Routes do not account for conditions. Weather, traffic, construction, road closures, and other hazards are not reflected in route suggestions
- BikeCrew does not provide navigation or safety advice. We are not a navigation service and do not offer guidance on road safety
- BikeCrew does not provide professional advice, safety guidance, or route certification of any kind
You must independently assess every route before and during your ride. Never rely solely on app-generated routes.
Safety Tips
We encourage all BikeCrew users to take precautions when meeting others and participating in user-organized rides.
Before Meeting Someone
- Meet in public places. Choose well-lit, populated locations for initial meetups
- Inform someone you trust. Let a friend or family member know where you are going, who you are meeting, and when you expect to return
- Keep communications on the app. Avoid sharing personal contact information.
- Trust your instincts. If something feels off, do not proceed with the meetup
During Rides and Meetups
- Bring your own transportation. Always have a way to leave independently
- Wear appropriate safety gear. Use helmets, protective clothing, and equipment suitable for your ride
- Follow all traffic laws and regulations. Obey speed limits, signals, and local road rules
- Watch your drinks. Never leave beverages unattended and be cautious about accepting drinks from others
- Stay aware of your surroundings. Pay attention to road conditions, other vehicles, and the behavior of people around you
Choosing Routes
- Use personal judgment when selecting routes. Evaluate whether a route is appropriate for your skill level, vehicle, and conditions
- Avoid unsafe or unfamiliar roads. If you are unsure about a route, do not take it
- Do not rely solely on app-generated routes. Always verify routes using reliable navigation tools and local knowledge
- Check current conditions. Look up road closures, weather, and other factors before you ride
If You Feel Unsafe
- Leave any situation that feels unsafe. Your safety comes first
- Do not feel obligated to participate. You can cancel or leave at any time, for any reason
- Report concerning behavior. Use our in-app reporting tools to let us know about users or situations that made you uncomfortable
