Welcome to BikeCrew. We respect your privacy and private life, but sometimes we need your Personal Data to provide you with our services. This Privacy Policy explains which Personal Data we collect, how we use, share, store, and protect it, and what rights you have.
We consider Personal Data to be any information relating to an identified or identifiable person, in conformity with the General Data Protection Regulation (the GDPR). We process your Personal Data in accordance with the GDPR and all other relevant legislation and regulations in the field of protection of Personal Data, including the Dutch Telecommunications Act (Telecommunicatiewet) regarding the use of cookies (collectively, the Relevant Legislation).
This Privacy Policy applies to our mobile application (the App), our website https://bikecrew.app (the Website), and the services or products we provide (the Services).

Who We Are
BikeCrew is operated by TK Systems, a sole proprietorship (eenmanszaak) registered in the Netherlands, doing business as "BikeCrew." TK Systems is the controller of your Personal Data within the meaning of the Relevant Legislation. Our contact details can be found at the end of this Privacy Policy.
What is BikeCrew?
BikeCrew is a social platform designed for cyclists and motorcyclists. Our App allows you to:
- Discover riders in your neighborhood
- Join or host group rides
- Create and join crews (rider communities)
- Chat with other riders through direct messages, ride chats, and crew chats
- Share your riding interests and vehicle information with the community
How Do We Receive Your Personal Data?
Personal Data we receive from you: We receive Personal Data directly from you when you create an account in the App by logging in with either a Google or Apple account, and as you use our Services (for example, when you fill in your profile, send messages, or join rides and crews).
Personal Data of third parties that you provide to us: It is possible that you provide us with Personal Data of third parties. We would like to remind you that it is your own responsibility to verify that those parties agree with the provision of their Personal Data to us.
Information We Collect
We need some of your Personal Data in order for you to use our App, Website, and Services. We are allowed to process your Personal Data because we comply with the Relevant Legislation. We lawfully process your Personal Data because we:
- Have legal bases for processing your Personal Data;
- Inform you about the processing; and
- Only process data for specific purposes, and no more than is necessary for that.
We shall only use your Personal Data for the purposes listed below or for compatible purposes. By doing so, we will not use your Personal Data in an unexpected manner.

Location Data
Location features are central to connecting you with nearby riders:

- Your Choice: Location access is entirely optional. You can enable or disable location permissions at any time through your device settings. Your precise GPS location is used on your device for display purposes only and is not stored on our servers.

Payment processing is handled by the Apple App Store and Google Play. We do not directly collect or store your credit card or payment instrument details.
Device Permissions
BikeCrew may request the following permissions:
- Location Access: Optional; used for the nearby riders feature
- Notifications: Optional; used to alert you about messages, ride updates, and other activity
You control these permissions through your device settings and can change them at any time.
Are you obliged to share your Personal Data with us?
In some cases, the processing of your Personal Data is necessary. This is relevant, for example, when we have to process your Personal Data in order to fulfil a contract with you or to provide our Services to you. Without certain Personal Data, we cannot provide our Services to you.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide Our Services: Operate the App, connect you with other riders, facilitate rides and crews, and enable messaging
- Ensure Safety: Moderate content and communications to maintain a safe and respectful community
- Improve the App: Understand how our features are used and make improvements
- Communicate With You: Send important updates about your account, respond to your inquiries, and provide customer support
- Manage Subscriptions: Process payments and manage your subscription if you choose our Pro tier
- Comply with Legal Obligations: Meet our obligations under applicable laws and regulations
Content Moderation
To keep BikeCrew a safe and welcoming community:
- Chat Moderation: Messages sent through our chat features are monitored using automated AI-based moderation provided by Stream. This helps us detect and address harmful content, harassment, or policy violations
- Image Screening: Photos and images uploaded to BikeCrew are automatically screened for inappropriate content using AWS Rekognition
These measures help us enforce our Community Guidelines and protect our users.
How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your Personal Data. We share your data only in the following circumstances:
With Other Users
Depending on your settings and activity, other BikeCrew users may see:
- Your profile information (name, photos, interests, vehicles, riding preferences)
- Your approximate location (if you enable the nearby riders feature)
- Your crew memberships and ride participation
- Messages you send in (group) chats
With Service Providers (Processors)
We share your Personal Data with data "processors" within the meaning of the Relevant Legislation. We have concluded data processing agreements with these parties, which entail that they shall process your Personal Data carefully and that they shall only receive the Personal Data they need to provide their service. These parties shall only use your Personal Data in accordance with our instructions and not for their own purposes.

Cookies
A cookie is a small text file that can be sent via the server of a website to the browser. The browser saves this file to your computer or device. Your device is tagged with a unique number, which enables our Website to recognize that device in the future.
We use cookies to improve the user experience on our Website. Moreover, cookies ensure that the Website works faster, that you can visit our Website safely, and that we can track and solve errors on our Website.
You can always delete or disable cookies yourself via the browser settings. No more cookies will be stored when you visit our Website. However, please note that without cookies, our Website may not function as well as it should.
Third-Party Websites
Our Website and our App may contain links to other websites. We are not responsible for the content or the privacy protection on these websites. Therefore, we advise you to always read the privacy policy of those websites before providing them with your Personal Data.
International Data Transfers
BikeCrew is operated from the Netherlands, but our service providers may process and store data outside the European Economic Area (EEA), including in the United States and other countries. We only transfer your Personal Data outside the EEA if the receiving country provides an adequate level of protection for your Personal Data. When your data is transferred internationally, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, including:
- Standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission
- Adequacy decisions by the European Commission
- Compliance with applicable data protection frameworks
We shall never transfer your Personal Data to countries or parties other than those mentioned above without your permission or without appropriate safeguards under the Relevant Legislation.
Data Retention
We shall not store your Personal Data longer than the period in which we need them for the aforementioned purposes. We delete the Personal Data after we no longer need them for the purpose we process them for.

Certain information you shared in group contexts (such as messages in crew or ride chats) may remain visible to other participants even after you delete your account.

We make every effort to protect your Personal Data from loss, destruction, use, alteration, or dissemination by unauthorized persons. We ensure that those who have no legitimate need to access your Personal Data cannot do so. We implement the following measures:
- Encryption (encoding) of digital files containing Personal Data
- Secure network connections with Transport Layer Security (TLS), Secure Socket Layer (SSL), or comparable technology
- Access controls -- access to Personal Data is strictly limited to personnel on a "need to know" basis
- Secure infrastructure provided by our trusted service providers
We constantly review our security measures for effectiveness and adjust our processes where necessary to ensure your Personal Data is always protected.
However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Age Requirement
BikeCrew is intended for users who are 18 years of age or older. If you are younger than 18 years old, you are not allowed to use our App, Website, and Services.
We do not knowingly collect Personal Data from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have collected information from a user under 18, we will take steps to delete that information and terminate the account promptly.

Your Rights
Under the Relevant Legislation, you have the following rights regarding your Personal Data:
For All Users
Regardless of where you live, you can:
- Right of Access: Request access to the Personal Data we hold about you
- Right to Rectification: Request that we correct, limit, or update inaccurate Personal Data. In the event of fraud, non-payment, or other wrongful acts, we may store some of your Personal Data in a register or on a blacklist
- Right to Data Portability: Request a copy of your Personal Data in a structured, commonly used format. We can provide this copy to third parties at your request, so you do not have to do so yourself
- Right to Erasure: Request deletion of your Personal Data
- Right to Restriction: Request that we limit how we use your data
- Right to Object: Object to the processing of your Personal Data
- Right to Withdraw Consent: Withdraw your permission to process your Personal Data at any time. From the moment of your withdrawal, we can no longer process your Personal Data for purposes based on consent

Governing Law and Jurisdiction
This Privacy Policy and any disputes arising from or relating to it shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Netherlands. Any disputes that cannot be resolved amicably shall be submitted to the competent court in the Netherlands.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may modify this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors. If we substantially modify the Privacy Policy, we shall place a notification on our Website and in our App together with the new Privacy Policy. We shall notify registered users in case of a substantial modification.

Entire Agreement
This Privacy Policy, together with our Terms & Conditions, Safety & Liability Disclaimer, and Community Guidelines, constitutes the entire agreement between you and BikeCrew regarding the processing of your Personal Data in connection with your use of the Services.
